Sudanese arrest

What is happening when a slight cultural faux pas is taken to the extreme and a fairly Innocent person is jailed. Apparently there are now people (in Sudan) calling for her to be shot!

The FCO again appears toothless, it's quite simple Mr Milliband - you threaten to expel their diplomats unless she is released immediately. And you carry out that threat if need be. Do we really want diplomatic relations with such a backward country?

BT Part 2

Finally decided to bite the bullet and just hold on until I got through to a real person. Finally got through to somebody and managed to sort out paying my phone bill by Direct Debit. I'm also supposed to get Broadband tomorrow - watch this space!

Fireworks

Went to a Fireworks party over the weekend (as Bonfire night is a Monday it makes sense). Enjoyed myself far more than I thought I would. Knew more people there than I didn't for a change and was surprised at a few of the absentees (who I'm pretty sure were invited).

A lot better than last year mainly because nobody was actually hurt or property was damaged (last year ended up with three pairs of ripped/damaged trousers and one flesh wound).
